The article provides an overview of possible options for the construction of pump-hose systems in extinguishing fires, as well as methods of their calculation. The most common variants of pump-hose systems are given, their description and features are given too. The accepted methods of calculation of each of the variants of pump-hose systems are considered in detail. The advantages and disadvantages characteristic for each of them are noted. The known reference data used in the calculation of pump-hose systems are given. Also, for the first
time in the literature, these data are supplemented by experimentally obtained values for fire hoses with a diameter of less than 50 and more than 150 mm. In conclusion, it is concluded that the methods used are inaccurate. It is noted that their main advantage is the speed of calculations, while the results may differ from the real values. In conclusion, the necessity of development of methods of calculations of pump-hose systems subject to marked disadvantages..
