The article deals with the problem of equipping the main fire trucks of general use with fire tools and equipment necessary to perform the tasks dictated by the modern realities of the activities of fire departments. The combat actions of fire departments are identified and characterized, the implementation of which requires the use of modern fire-technical weapons and emergency equipment. A number of technical solutions have been proposed that make it possible to quickly perform the tasks facing the fire departments.

On the need to clarify the hydraulic characteristics coming to the subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia new fire hoses

The article describes the results of research related to the formulation and search for ways to solve the problem of eliminating the significant uncertainty of the hydraulic characteristics of new fire hoses entering the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The order of scatteringof reference data of hydraulic parameters of fire hoses given in official sources is estimated. It is shown that the lack of accurate data does not allow to effectively use the calculation models of pump-hose systems developed at the Academy. To get out of the situation, it is proposed to create an “Experimental research installation for measuring the thermohydraulic characteristics of the elements of the water supply path to the fire site”.

The article proposes and justifies a way to reduce the fire hazard of technological processes, as well as production in general, by selecting fire detectors of the ATP, taking into account the fire hazard indicators of substances and materials used in production. An example of the selection of the type of fire detectors based on the characteristics of combustible loads, taking into account the fire factors that directly affect the time of their operation from the start of the fire. To solve the problem in the example, certain analytical equations of the integral model of the development of fire hazards in the room were selected.

If the state of explosion safety of technological processes of drying plants is violated, there is a high probability of an explosion, causing significant destruction and material damage. To solve this problem, it is proposed to use three principles: exclusion of the possibility of the formation of suspension combustion; prevention of the occurrence of heat sources capable of initiating combustion; the use of passive or active explosion proofing systems capable of localizing an explosion within the apparatus.

The article considers one of the most important directions of the development of the country’s oil and gas industry, namely the transition from a raw material cluster to the processing of oxygen-containing hydrocarbons. It is noted that technological processes: pyrolysis, dehydrogenation, etc. at installations of category I and II are constantly being improved, thereby increasing their efficiency and at the same time the level of explosion hazard. The authors of the article analyzed the fire hazard, identified the most characteristic ignition sources, the combustible medium and proposed a predictive concept that allows us to establish the probability of uncontrolled combustion during pyrolysis and smoldering of polymers, synthetic materials. The article substantiates the relevance of research devoted to the study of the dynamics of fires in enclosed spaces of industrial and warehouse purposes. In work the analysis of features of occurrence and course of fires in the closed premises, statistical data on fires in premises of warehouse and industrial appointment, the analysis of requirements of fire safety to such premises is carried out. The necessity in development of method of control of dangerous factors of fire in industrial and warehouse premises of closed type has been revealed.
